My 3 year old is obsessed with dinosaurs right now and this book gave me more information than kid dino books. I got it from the library but will purchase it now.

We come from where?!

I was very excited to get this book, as my experiences with Usborne books have all been great.....until now! Most of the content was as expected--dinosaurs lived millions of years ago, some were carnivores, while others herbivores, have been extinct for millions of years, etc....But then there was a section that explained that while the dinos roamed several hundred million years ago, the humans were a race that have only been around for a few million years! We humans evolved from the primates a few million years after the dinosaurs! Not so! I know that as a child we were taught evolution theories in school, and I know that evolution ideas are still being taught, but I didn't realize that HUMAN evolution was still prevalent in newer books in print! Terribly disappointing! I haven't decided yet if I will use this book for our homeschool unit on dinosaurs, or if I will find other material that is more conducive to our belief and my teaching.
