Grade 5-8–This sequel to The Akhenaten Adventure (Scholastic, 2005) stands completely on its own. John and Philippa Gaunt, 12-year-old twins, are descended from a long line of djinn and have magical powers. Philippa has been practicing a dice game of particular interest to their kind, and meets the Blue Djinn of Babylon when she is accused of cheating in the annual tournament. Unfortunately, she is wrongly convicted, and John finds out that someone has stolen the Solomon Grimoire, which contains incantations that give the user limitless power over all djinn. In order to convince the Blue Djinn of her innocence, and to protect everyone from misuse of the Grimoire, the twins set off for Istanbul to recover the book. What neither one knows is that they have been set up and are walking into a trap. Once it is sprung, it will take all of Johns strength and intelligence to save Philippa; and she will need all of her cunning to survive. This wild ride has suspense and action, exotic locations, magic, and evil villains–all of the elements necessary for a good fantasy adventure. While some of the characters are two-dimensional, and some of the plot is a tad predictable, the main characters are totally believable in all their faults. Readers will also enjoy the original concept–that of the djinn society hidden among us. Give this book to readers looking for something different, maybe as an alternative to Jonathan Strouds Bartimaeus trilogy (Hyperion).–Saleena L. Gr. 5-8. Featuring adolescents initiated into a magical society invisible to unwitting "mundanes," the Children of the Lamp series nods vigorously to Harry Potter. The difference from many of its competitors, though, is the finesse with which it does so--no less apparent here than in The Akhenatan Adventure (2005), which most children will want to read first. Kidnapped by the ruthless Blue Djinn to succeed her as djinnkind's ultimate arbiter of justice, newly fledged djinn Philippa has been imprisoned to prepare her for the unwanted job. As family and friends work to find a more suitable replacement, Philippa's twin, John, must rescue her from an underground palace, accessed through an American military base in Iraq--an up-to-the-minute element that fits oddly with the narrative's old-fashioned tone (at one point, John creeps about "Indian-style," and what 12-year-old New Yorker uses words like quite and indeed?). At the same time, though, the plot also feels more controlled than its predecessor, with greater limitations to the magic preventing the heroes' paths from seeming artificially smooth. In Kerr's second entry in the Children of the Lamp series, the Gaunt twins, Philippa and John, finally get an introduction to the world of the djinn culture and society that their mother rejected to live a normal life with her human husband. Much to their dismay, they find many of the other djinn to be disagreeable, if not downright wicked. The twins' intelligence, innocence, and desire to help others make them a target for jealousy, and schemes abound to get rid of them-permanently, if possible. Philippa is spirited away to a hidden castle where she will become the next Blue Djinn, the judge of all the djinn tribes, good and evil. Unfortunately being an all-powerful leader means becoming completely heartless, and Philippa must fight the forces trying to transform her into an emotionless creature of logic, even while John struggles to locate her and come to her rescue. Although a stronger overall effort than The Akhenaten Adventure (Orchard, 2004/VOYA April 2004), this sequel is plot- rather than character-driven, and some readers might wish for a little more character development. The story gets off to a slow start, but the humor is just right, the captivating world of the djinn is faultlessly depicted and expanded, and Kerr balances the resolution with enough uncertainties to draw readers back for the next installment. This work is likely to win new fans as well as please those who enjoyed the previous book.-Catherine Gilmore-Clough.

Let's play "Find the Djinn"
By Amanda Richards
This second book in the “Children of the Lamp” series can be read without reading the first, but why would anyone want to do that? Both books are excellent adventures for both young adults and adults who think they’re still young, and should not be separated at any cost.

We take up the story with John and Phillipa Gaunt, the djinn twins from New York, suffering from the winter blues around the time of the Halloween festivities. Being fiery beings, cold weather tends to send their powers into hibernation, necessitating the summoning of a djinn doctor who specializes in holistic health treatments, and of course lots of accompanying tonic.

The twins’ mother Layla has renounced her powers to try to lead a normal life for her family’s sake, so she keeps tight control over their magical escapades, and when the doctor’s wayward son Dybbuk (call me Buck) lets them into a little secret for recharging their magical batteries, they jump at the chance for a little magic on the side.

Their friend Mr. Rakshasas (an Irish-accented Indian djinn who lives in a lamp) has written a very significant and important book, and at the book-launching party their kindly Uncle Nimrod introduces them to the who’s who of djinn society, including Stan Bunyip of Australia and David Kabikaj of Canada, as well as the Cruella de Ville of evil djinn, Mimi de Ghule. At this meeting Phillipa learns that Ayesha the Blue Djinn (leader, judge and jury of all djinn, good or evil) is almost ready to retire, and is looking for a successor.

Phillipa is an accomplished Djinnverso player (djinn poker, but with seven eight-sided dice) and enters a tournament at the Algonquin Hotel in New York, (the spot for the cleverest writers and wittiest actors, and the place where stylish insults are encouraged), but unfortunately things don’t go very well for her. To make matters worse, they learn that The Book of Solomon is missing. Solomon’s Grimoire is a powerful book that can help a djinn or magus to control many other djinn, and is normally kept in a safe place by the Blue Djinn herself.

John and Phillipa set out on a quest to recover the book, but the rescue operation hits a snag when Phillipa is kidnapped. The cavalry then springs into action, led by John, with the assistance of Uncle Nimrod, Mr. Rakshasas, the family dogs, and the crabby, competent, and never-basically-boring Mr. Groanin, (who thoughtfully packed supplies of dog food, and an enticing Kendall Mint Cake,) and this leads us to many exciting chapters fraught with danger, packed with adventure, suspense, current affairs, humor (lots of it) and magic.

Set in exciting locations such as Istanbul, Iraq and Guiana (French Guiana that is, just a whirlwind ride from Guyana in South America), this book differentiates itself from regular run of the mill fantasy stories, and prepares the stage for book three, due at the end of 2006. We can’t wait!!!

The books are good but my son only likes one of the four so wasn't worth my money in that respect. I think it would rate higher for a good early reader for kiddos though!

From School Library Journal
PreSchool-Grade 1-- As in Bunny Trouble (Scholastic, 1985), the bunnies in this sequel should have real kid appeal. Ralph bungles his babysitting responsibilities by letting baby bunny sister crawl away into tall, fox-infested grass while he blithely paints Easter eggs. Ralph comes up with the solution to find her--in the nick of time--and "From then on, Ralph watched his favorite sister very carefully." Pastels dominate, appropriate for the Easter theme of the story. It is didactic, but gently so, and if the writing isn't masterful, the cartoon-like illustrations and the holiday link will make this a likely choice. --Lee Bock, Brown County Public Libraries, Green Bay, Wis.

I love this story and had the paperback for years but after reading it to one of my granddaughters she asked if she could keep it.
I gave it to her and ordered myself a new one to have on hand for the other grandchildren. Hans Wilhelm is a great children's author.

Excellent beginners reading books for beginning readers
By KSL
These 25 small booklet book focuses on 2 sight words per 8 page stories and also includes a Write-and-Learn workbook. The books do repeat and also have picture clues on each page which is what your Kindergarten teacher will be teaching your children to do when they are unsure of a word or can't pronounce it. And the illustrators have multi-cultural children shown which is also nice.

These books give your child confidence in reading and the illustrations are vary because of all the different authors and illustrators. Each book on the back includes an ISBN and a price for each book $1.25 which is pretty steep for this small 8 page booklet.

The Sight Word Readers Write-and-Learn Workbook shows the 50 sight words they'll learn and be comfortable with: I, look, that, here, what, see, for, pretty, are, in, ride, me, like, did, this, on, too, to, it, is, play, run, they, want, have, with, said, go, new, three, my, a, help, one, we, can, funny, at, two, get, and, up, find, you, will, big, down, the, fly and little. It gives the parents suggestions for Using this book which gives you 7 tips. Then it gives you a page that works with each book and gives the title of the book where they write the word and then color the boxes with those 2 words out of 9 boxes and then the last 4 pages are 4 word searches which will help your child find the words (all are across and not backwards).

Here are the 25 books and Sight Word Reader Write-and-Learn Workbook with the ISBN, author for all is Linda Ward Beech & designed by Norma Ortiz, illustrators and sight words used in that booklet. Each 8 page booklet is priced at $1.25 and the workbook which is the same small size as the each story is priced at $2.50. Hope this helps.

Very good beginning reading, but could be better
By Andrew Smith
I got these books for my 4-year-old, who is just learning to read. Most of the booklets are perfect for a beginning reader, and there's nothing like seeing the look of pride and satisfaction when he finishes a book! While he grasped the sight words readily, there are harder words sprinkled in the books that sometimes make it frustrating for beginners. And the pictures are so literal, that he often tried to guess what the words were without reading them. (I covered the pictures and rewarded him when he finished the page by uncovering the picture.) I would recommend the "Bob" book series a little more because they start more gradually and are harder to "guess" the words.

This is a spectacular collection - giving our 6 year old the confidence to read on his own and go through the collection over and over again with enthusiasm. What a value as well.

Ten in the Bed
By Book Reader
A great book with rhythm and rhyme any child would love. The CD teaches the tune so that the song can be sung. Great song to memorize with children and let ten children act out the song. Great music or classroom activity in school.

This story using dogs was a great twist on a very favorite song. Also an easy way to reinforce counting. The book is paper not a board book so teacher or parent should keep care of it in a group to last the year. Good version.

Great Book!
By Sheila Amani
I love the storyline twist to the ending. It gives meaning to why they are rolling over. I wish it came with a music CD like my friends did though as well as a doggy bone plush to use with the classroom as a movement activity for the children. I recomend this book to teachers, especially preschool teachers.

A good addition to your child's historical library
By A Customer
This history of the Pilgrims is very complete, given the reading level of the book. It is written for second to third grade students. The story covers the reasons for leaving England, the journey across the Atlantic, the first horrible winter, the meeting of Samoset and Squanto, the help given by the Indians and the Harvest Feast itself. The artwork is nicely done and adds to the content. Second grade students may find new vocabulary and challenging words to read, while third grade students should find the reading easy. A good asset for the teaching of American history to early elementary students.

Bouncy verse and glowing photographs show a backyard pumpkin patch move through its natural cycle -- a bug'¬?s eye and a bird's high view of seeds sprouting, flowers blooming, bees buzzing, pumpkins growing . . .and then going back to earth. From School Library Journal
Kindergarten-Grade 2-The development of a pumpkin seed into a plant, pumpkin, jack-o'-lantern, and, completing the circle, back to seed again, is the subject of this colorful book. Photos show a child sitting on a huge mound of pumpkins, a magnified view of the inside of the fruit with its pulp and seeds, tendrils of a plant stretching across two pages, a Georgia O'Keeffe-like view into the center of a blossom, and the lighted grin of a beautiful jack-o'-lantern. Unfortunately, the text is written in badly rhyming verse: "One big pumpkin family, five varieties,/each one started from/different pumpkin seeds." Straightforward directions for growing pumpkins appear on the last page. Jeanne Titherington's Pumpkin, Pumpkin (Greenwillow, 1986) is less flashy, more artistic, and more appealing to young listeners.

From Kirkus Reviews
For those who have seen the charming video of the same name, this will be an unhappy example of what happens when one medium is translated into another. Those who come to this without preconceived notions, however, will find glorious full-color photographs that capture pumpkin marvels, from the mountain of golden orange delights with a girl perched on them to the gorgeous close-ups of green sprouts, feathery buds, and full yellow flowers. The singsong text is often clumsy, rhyming ``seeds'' with ``leaves,'' ``hair'' with ``appear,'' and ``vine'' with ``time.'' The fascinating story of the growth of the pumpkin (and the pumpkin patch), from seed to jack-o-lantern, and then back, decaying, into the earth, is more fully conveyed in the pictures. From Publishers Weekly
British author Hanley pens a romantic royal tale of intrigue in the tradition of King Arthur. Princess Torina, "eyes sparkling, hair wild," is the only child of hard-hearted warrior King Kareed. After the king defeats the peaceful monarch of Bellandra, he brings home the country's famous sword and gives to his daughter a magic crystal and Landen, the prince of Bellandra, to be Torina's slave. What begins as an uneasy friendship between Landen and Torina grows into a bond of trust when the girl saves his life due to her ability to see the future in the magic crystal. Years later the two become estranged when Landen informs Torina that her lover, Vesputo, is deceiving her and has only ambitions to the throne. Vesputo turns vicious, and both she and Landen are forced to leave the country. They separate, travel far and wide, and eventually find themselves major players in a complicated political plot with Vesputo at its center. This is a lengthy novel, and the narrative's vacillation between different locations and points of view becomes disorienting; the pacing also suffers from fits and starts. However, Hanley's characters are heroic and vulnerable, smart and hot-blooded. The romance rings true and the action sings with excitement: the climax literally comes down to the executioner's scaffold in the penultimate chapter. Fans of romance and the Round Table genre will be swept up in the plot. Ages 12-up.

From School Library Journal

Gr 6-10-Princess Torina is delighted when her father, the King of Archeld, returns from his conquest of the neighboring kingdom. He has brought home the magical Sword of Bellandra; a crystal globe that he gives to his child; and, to Torina's horror, he presents her with the defeated country's now-enslaved Prince Landen. She immediately frees the boy, but the orphan remains in the king's household and trains as a warrior. Over the next decade, Torina becomes a seer (the crystal stone allows her to divine the future), while Landen sets aside his pacifist upbringing and becomes a skillful soldier. Both assist the high king in his efforts to unite several small, rival countries and repel the attack of brutal invaders. This political setting sounds much like Arthurian England, but Archeld's royal court has a more Elizabethan tone, being rife with poison, intrigue, and hidden alliances. Hanley competently establishes a large cast of secondary characters and neatly weaves together the far-reaching threads of consequence spun out from the cruelty of the king and the mercy of the princess. Fans of Tamora Pierce's books should enjoy this long, sprawling novel, which is less wryly humorous than Pierce's work but is often more thoughtful about the outcomes of peace and warfare, aggression and compassion.-Beth Wright, Fletcher Free Library, Burlington, VT

From Booklist
Gr. 6-12. This fantasy provides something for everyone. There's a fiery, redheaded seer for the romantic at heart; plots, counter plots, and battle scenes for the readers who like war; and discussions about war and pacifism for the philosophically minded. Princess Torina, a child when the story opens, is the daughter of a war-mongering king who is out to destroy peaceful Bellandra. When the king returns from his battle, he brings a slave for Torina, Landen, the young prince of Bellandra. Torina quickly sets Landen free, and the two begin a lifelong friendship. Time passes. Torina is engaged to wicked Vesputo, who frames Landen for the murder of the king. A complicated series of events ensues, and Landen and Torina run away, each thinking the other is dead. Of course, all is set right in the end. The combination of magic, intrigue, romance, and a strong, independent heroine will make this especially popular with middle-school and junior-high girls. Twelve years later, I still love this book
By QuidditchSnitch
Victoria Hanley is an angel sent from heaven to deliver awe-inspiring novels to us.

I read this book in the 8th grade and have never forgotten it. I looked in every bookstore and library for it and was unsuccessful. I finally turned to Amazon and after 12 years, I still love this book. Hanley is a genius at intertwining plots and character development while still working in some romance.

A fantastic book for any women or girl looking for a strong female lead.

A good story and fun read but don't expect much from the sword
By Frances Wheeler
This is the story about the Princes Torina and Landen who was the Prince of another Kingdom that was taken over by Torina's father and inturn gains the Sword of Bellandra. The reader watches as the two characters grow and Torina learns of her seer abilities with the crystal her father gave to her. Once Vesputo takes over the Kingdom, Landen and Torina flee though seperately into Desante where the adventure takes off as they try to stay alive and keep this kingdom from the hands of Vesputo.

I didn't like the part where Vesputo is all of sudden an evil character, which Landen somehow knew about, but no one else did, not even the reader until Landen says so to Torina. There was no build up to his evilness, so that when Vesputo kills the king it seems plausible. Nor was he made to seem like a good guy and you were totally shocked by his evilness. In fact, up until he kills the king he was a very minor character and it seemed like he was an after thought to become the main bad guy of the story.

Another problem that I found in the story was that it jumps back and forth through the eyes of different characters to show you what is going on in different places. I found this troubling, because one minute I was with Torina out in the cold and the next page I would be back in the castle with another character, then the next page (or paragraph) I was back with Torina.

I also found the sword part a big let down. The sword was made out to be a key part of the story. It is surrounded by a legend and was one of the reasons Torina's father took over the kingdom that had it. The Desante King even has it stolen because they are so afraid that Vesputo will use it. And Landen is always searching for it. Yet, it is never used once in the story, which I thought was disappointing, because you want to know if the legend is true. You also want to see Landen rise up as a hero by using it for good to win a battle. At the end of the story the sword is returned to Landen and he wears it in his belt and that is all that happens with the sword. You almost are expecting a sequel just so you can see the sword being used in action.

On a more positive note, I did like the story, the characters, and the author had some nice descriptions. I would recommend the story as a nice read, but don't expect greatness like that found in the North Kingdom (by Jordan N. Danniels) where all the loose ends are resolved in the end and you aren't left saying, "Huh?".

Amazon.com Review
In Outlander, a 600-page time-travel romance, strong-willed and sensual Claire Randall leads a double life with a husband in one century, and a lover in another. Torn between fidelity and desire, she struggles to understand the pure intent of her heart. But don't let the number of pages and the Scottish dialect scare you. It's one of the fastest reads you'll have in your library.

While on her second honeymoon in the British Isles, Claire touches a boulder that hurls her back in time to the forbidden Castle Leoch with the MacKenzie clan. Not understanding the forces that brought her there, she becomes ensnared in life-threatening situations with a Scots warrior named James Fraser. But it isn't all spies and drudgery that she must endure. For amid her new surroundings and the terrors she faces, she is lured into love and passion like she's never known before. I was lame and sore in every muscle when I woke next morning. I shuffled to the privy closet, then to the wash basin. My innards felt like churned butter. It felt as though I had been beaten with a blunt object, I reflected, then thought that that was very near the truth. The blunt object in question was visible as I came back to bed, looking now relatively harmless. Its possessor [Jamie] woke as I sat next to him, and examined me with something that looked very much like male smugness." Gabaldon creates characters that you'll remember, laugh with, cry with, and cheer for long after you've finished the book. --Candy Paape

From Publishers Weekly
Absorbing and heartwarming, this first novel lavishly evokes the land and lore of Scotland, quickening both with realistic characters and a feisty, likable heroine. English nurse Claire Beauchamp Randall and husband Frank take a second honeymoon in the Scottish Highlands in 1945. When Claire walks through a cleft stone in an ancient henge, she's somehow transported to 1743. She encounters Frank's evil ancestor, British captain Jonathan "Black Jack" Randall, and is adopted by another clan. Claire nurses young soldier James Fraser, a gallant, merry redhead, and the two begin a romance, seeing each other through many perilous, swashbuckling adventures involving Black Jack. Scenes of the Highlanders' daily life blend poignant emotions with Scottish wit and humor. Eventually Sassenach (outlander) Claire finds a chance to return to 1945, and must choose between distant memories of Frnak and her happy, uncomplicated existence with Jamie. Claire's resourcefulness and intelligent sensitivity make the love-conquers-all, happily-ever-after ending seem a just reward. Doubleday Book Club main selection, Literary Guild alternate.

From Library Journal
After being separated by seven years of World War II, Claire and Frank Randall return to the Scottish Highlands for a second honeymoon. Left to her own devices while her husband immerses himself in historical pursuits, Claire inadvertently enters a circle of standing stones and is plunged back 200 years to a Scotland on the verge of the second Jacobite uprising. Her pluck and skill as a nurse win the Scots' grudging respect, but only marriage to a Scot will save her from the clutches of Frank's vicious forbear, Black Jack Randall. Though first novelist Gabaldon uses time travel primarily to allow a modern heroine, this is basically a richly textured historical novel with an unusual and compelling love story. The author, an assistant professor of research in environmental studies, was encouraged to publish by fellow users of CompuServe and has two more books contracted. If these fulfill the promise of the first, they should win a devoted audience. Literary Guild alternate; Doubleday Book Club main selection.

WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU COMPLETELY LOST YOUR HEART TO A BOOK? Well, look no further. Diana Gabaldon has created the ultimate escape in Outlander. Don't let the 850 pages dissuade you. It's the fastest read you'll ever have.

The epic tale begins when Claire Randall, a young combat nurse in World War II, moves to Scotland with her beloved husband to reignite their marriage interrupted by the war. Hiking one day, Claire accidentally passes through the stones of an ancient stone circle and wakes up to find herself in 18th century Scotland. Lost, alone, and confused (yet determined), Claire's path crosses, and is inextricably linked to, a young Highland warrior... James Fraser. (The kind of man women want, and men want to BE.) The story that ensues would make Shakespeare proud-- danger, suspense, passion, betrayal, true love and tragedy. Gabaldon is a master storyteller. She shrouds her fantasy in just enough reality as to completely seduce her readers.

The time travel element as well as the romance, while unconventional for a "serious" historical novel, are handled brilliantly by Gabaldon. That said, this book is not for the faint of heart as the author tackles themes of a violent and sexual nature. However, the story is so realistic and beautifully told that it doesn't come off as a ploy to shock readers. Well-crafted and meticulously researched, Outlander is historical fiction at its finest... and so much fun! The hero and heroine come alive. You'll find yourself living and breathing in their world, anxiously devouring each chapter.

WARNING: have the next three books in the series handy. Once you turn the last page of Outlander, you won't want to return to the 21st century. I couldn't get to the bookstore fast enough. And, Gabaldon does not disappoint...

It's all in the details
By mocroidh
I finished The Fiery Cross a couple of days ago, and while it's not my favorite of the series (nothing beats the first one), I enjoyed it thoroughly. Diana Gabaldon has taken us back once again to the eighteenth century and revealed it to us in glorious detail. I can't think of a better way to spend an afternoon than with Jamie and Claire Fraser. I also appreciated this book greatly as a further deepening of Roger and Brianna's story. In the previous books, Bree wasn't really an interesting character to me - but here her character is fleshed out considerably. Likewise Roger - although his character was well-developed before this book, he endures hardships here that test his self-image and strength of character. And of course, Claire and Jamie are the same wonderful characters as ever - you really see here how their love has developed over the years.
I understand the complaints of some that this book doesn't have a plot, that it moves too slowly, etc. Those are valid points to make - there's nothing really earth-shattering that happens in this installment, although you know that something (the Revolution) is looming just beyond the horizon. For me, though, the beauty of the book was in the details - the very fact that this is for the most part a book about everyday life. More than in any of the rest of the books, Diana revels in these details. While some may find all this detail "boring," it allows us to really understand what life was like in the past, and it fleshes out all of the characters immeasurably. I closed the book feeling satisfied and yet craving more - I can't wait to find out how the entire saga ends! The Fiery Cross is a book for true fans who love these characters.

Beautifully written

Before anyone is discouraged by the negative reviews here, I hope they will read this one.
I don't understand when someone says nothing happens in this book. Granted, the action is subtle in the form of politics and intrigue, however it is still there. We finally get to see the everyday life of these wonderful people as they try to find a place to call their own. They have spent so much of their lives running from one thing to another, not really having a home that this is refreshing. People adore these books because of Diana's amazing ability of bringing characters to life, yet bash this book for the same reasons. When you nurse and have small children, bodily functions are something you have to deal with. One of the most humourous sections is Roger and Bree dealing with potty training Jemmy.
There is plenty of action, political intrigue and drama. We travel with Jamie and the militia, find some new characters, deal with almost losing not just one but two of the major characters and see the return of another. Some loose ends are tied up (wondering about the Tory gold and just who was Otter Tooth?), some are still hanging and new ones pop up (who was that with Laoghaire in the arbor and what about Claire's nighttime visitor?). The action is there if you care to read it.
It's true this book was split in two, Ms. Gabaldon didn't get as far as she would have liked with it, but it is a wonderful book all the same. I finished it in 2 days and had to reread it almost immediately. It is a slower starting novel than previously, something like Dragonfly in Amber, but still filled with the characters I have grown to love. Read it, you won't be disappointed.

Greg and Sam press their luck with a roll of some dice. Devious dice.

Damien Graves is back with three more chilling stories that will make you sleep with one eye open.

Louise is beginning to question her friendship with three of her close friends, since all they want to do is bully everyone they see. Their main victim is Mr. Webster, owner of the ever-popular candy store. They think they can have whatever they want, but when Mr. Webster tells them that they can't have the special candy in the special box, they know they have to have it. Unfortunately, Louise and her friends will witness firsthand how bad candy really is.

It started out as a little chore for Greg and Sam to clean out Greg's grandfather's house, who had just recently passed away. But while cleaning up, the boys stumble upon a specially made game board that outlines what will ultimately decide their fate and what kind of luck they will have.

For Rory and April, their parents getting a brand new car with a GPS system and all the newest technology was the best thing that could ever happen. Yet, one rainy night, when the siblings decide to update the GPS system, everything electric starts to go haywire. All the appliances could have been possessed, or maybe they were just sending Rory and April a message about their new car and a certain system.

These three stories will make anyone pee in their pants, even adults, and are perfect for anyone who doesn't mind a little scare before bed.
