okay reference book

This is a fairly good, fact-filled reference book with many photographs and illustrations, looking at dinosaurs largely from a geographic perspective, continent by continent, area by area. It's appropriate for junior-high age and up. Younger children may enjoy looking at the pictures and reading some of the facts, but it is not directed at younger children or adults. Aside from the gimmicky "internet links" touted on the cover and throughout the book, this is a worthwhile addition to a general reference library.
This book was on display at several of the national parks & monuments in the US southwest in late 2007. Oddly, the date of pulication is inside the back cover rather than inside the front cover -- this was first published in the UK in 2003 and printed in the US in 2004. I had some concerns about the longevity of the internet links touted on the cover.
Turns out, the "internet links" that are on nearly every page simply direct you to a single usborne quicklinks site -- at that site, you can type in the name of the book and supposedly find more information. I couldn't find any links for this book, and the process seemed cumbersome even if the links were available.

This has a lot of resource on the Mesozoic Era! Read this book and look in the dino fact files on the back! There is even a dinosaur quiz to test you about your knowledge about these monsters! This indeed is something you have to keep in handy if you ever have a prehistoric life test! Get this exellent prehistoric resource now!
